Particle density
- The particle density of the
particulate solids or powered is the density of the particles that make up
the powder.
- The mass per unit volume of soil
particles usually expressed in grams per cubic centimeter.
Bulk density
- Bulk density is defined as the volume of the pores created between particles and pores that exist within
individual particles.
Sphericity
- The shape of the particle is
expressed in terms of sphericity.
- Sphericity is independent of
particle size
- Sphericity is the ratio of the surface area of a spherical particle having the same volume as a particle
under consideration to that of the surface area of the particle.
Equivalent diameter (Deq)
- It is defined as the diameter of a
sphere of equal volume as that of the particle.
- It is denoted by Deq
Specific surface area
- It is defined as a surface area
per unit mass
- The SI units are m2/kg
Volume surface mean diameter
- It is defined as the diameter of a sphere that has the same volume/surface area ratio as a
particle of interest
Mass mean diameter
